Three Ways to Make Your Photos Fun and Relaxed

Hi friends! So as things begin to pick up, I wanted to touch base and see if I can help you feel more comfortable going into photo session. I will try to keep it to only 3 but we will see how it goes. So here are a few ideas.

1. make sure you have had plenty to eat and drink plenty of water. I promise you nothing will take the fun out of your session faster than having a rumbling tummy and becoming hangry. Things go downhill real quick when kids are hungry. So try to eat something or bring snacks with you.

2. It is completely normal to be stressed or anxious going into an unknown situation or meeting a new person. I get it. I often feel the same way. One of the best things you can do is BREATHE. Then breathe again. It sounds so simple and ridiculous, but it does work. Taking those deep breaths will help you to release tension and relax. If kids see you relaxed, then they are less likely to be stressed.

3. Try to get to your session site a little early. Nothing will cause stress like trying to rush and/or running late.

4. See I told you I wouldn’t be able to do only 3 suggestions. Last one for now. Most importantly, go with the flow. Be willing to be silly and have fun. I am going to direct you all every step of the way. I will let you know what to do. I’ve got this. So don’t worry about kids getting antsy or not wanting to smile. That’s normal. At some point in the session (sometimes it is faster than others), I am going to have you all up and moving, kids will be playing, and parents will be silly and laughing with each other and their kids. Let me take care of the rest.

How about you all? Any other suggestions? Things that work for you?
